Call Center Customer Service

We have all been on the receiving end of poor customer service.  Some of us may also find ourselves on the giving end from time to time, but hopefully not because of our own actions.  Here are some reminders to help you realize that your clientele is receiving Poor Customer Service.

• Keeping callers on hold more than 5 minutes without checking with them.

• Promising to do something and not following through.

• Assuming that the issue is the customer’s fault because they didn’t know your processes and procedures.

• Refusing to assist a customer because it’s your break or lunch time Dumping the call into someone else’s queue just because you don’t know the right answer.

• Trying to upsell the customer after a terrible interaction where you were of no help.

• Not explaining billing or other procedures that are clearly confusing to most customers. 

These are just a few examples of Poor Customer Service.  While today you may be the person in a position to help, remember that we are all someone else’s customers.  Be helpful whenever possible and maybe one day another customer service rep with return the favor.
