Phone Sales RepresentativeTelemarketing professionals make their living by selling goods and services over the phone. The telemarketer's level of success depends on various factors including the ability to make a personal connection with the prospective customer, and the sales acumen to close the sale. At the beginning of every sales call, telemarketers must convince the caller to stay on the line long enough to hear the subsequent sales pitch. Without this initial seller/buyer connection, the chances of closing a sale vanish rapidly. As a way to connect with customers, a friendly and energized attitude is essential. Having a "this is my 33rd call for the day, and I'm getting tired of being rejected" tone of voice is certainly a bad start to a sale. In addition, a clear and concise message is required to capture the listener's attention and interest. Having a well-rehearsed script that covers all the important concepts to be conveyed is a good starting point. Once the prospective customer has answered the call, the script should be delivered in the most natural of ways.
